OSU Bass Fishing Club members Win at Clear Fork with 16.08lbs!

Clear Fork

Jason Founds and Kyle Feucht of THE Ohio State University Bass Fishing Team were able to win the 2nd event of the season in the Team Bass Xtreme Tournament Series on Clear Fork Reservoir.

They fished Clear Fork for the very first time only one week before the event and thought they had a good grasp on what the fish were going to do. Tournament day marked the 2nd time the duo had been on Clear Fork and the fish were not willing to bite the lures they thought would work. So, an hour into the event they made a lure and location change to a spot they found in practice. In the next two hours they filled out their limit. This limit included catching three 4-pound largemouth in a 45-minute span. After culling a small fish later in the day, they headed to the scales with 16.08lbs of fish with the largest being 4.20lbs. All of the fish were caught on a short 100-yard stretch of the lake which they wore out for 6.5 hours.

Jason and Kyle caught fish on a variety of lures, but the big fish came on Warrior Baits Plastics Texas-rigged on Hookerz Tackle 3/0 EWG Hooks and 1/8oz Tungsten. The other two keepers came on a Warrior Warpath Buzzbait and a spinnerbait. All fish were caught using Vicious Fishing Line.

They also wanted to make special mention of the Reel Grips that were on all of their baitcaster handles. Even though it rained throughout the tournament day, the duo never lost a fish in part because they always had a good grip on their reel handles.

Thank You to all of the 2010 OSU Bass Fishing sponsors for your support this year!
